The 35th anniversary of the graduation of the Atchison High Class of 1975 has past, and in our estimation, it was a hit. I'll try to add my photos here for those classmates and visitors who do not currently have access to Face Book. If you wish to see more photos, I suggest going to Face Book and see those. Don't be scared! Face Book is just as safe as any other software/communication tool as long as you ensure you do not open an EXECUTABLE (.exe file extension) FILE. So go ahead and take a chance. You will be amazed at the ability you gain in communicating with old long lost friends.

Anyway, here goes the photo download. It will take me several nights to finish, so come back often. Oh yes, I forgot. If I figure it out I have two very short video clips of some of our notorious classmates (read naughty girls) attempting to sing the school fight songs while breathing in helium.

7:00 AHS Homecoming Game (Amelia Earhart Stadium) Class of 1975 to sit in Reserved Seating area at North End of Stadium

Saturday September 25, 2010
MORNING:
Golf Outing for those interested (Please specify on your application form if you would be interested in participating). We will finalize tee times and participation Friday at the mixer for Saturday golf (weather permitting) at the Fort Leavenworth Golf Course. Morning tee times are available at the Fort. Golf at Fort Leavenworth requires picture ID and Insurance/Registration for vehicles entering the Fort. Unfortunately the local Golf Clubs are Private and Semi Private and tee times are only available after 1:00PM which will leave little time to be ready for the evening activities.
Breakfast (on your own)
Shopping on the Mall and at Nell Hill’s (Atchison’s answer to Martha Stewart) on your own!
AFTERNOON:
1:00 Tour of Atchison Middle School (Our good Ole AHS) Meet at the main north entrance facing 5th Street
2:00 Nap time for the old folks
3:00 Haunted Atchison Trolley Tour (meet around 2:30 at the Atchison Chamber 10th and Skyway/the old Train Depot)
· (If you are interested in the Trolley Tour, we need your fee to guarantee a seat on the Trolley. If the numbers warrant, we may need an additional trolley. See Atchison in a new light, our hometown has been listed as the most Haunted Town in Kansas. Probably all those former teachers we drove to an early grave.
· We will have a class photo opportunity available for purchase at the event. Photos will cost $10.00 payable to the photographer the evening of the 25th.
EVENING ACTIVITIES:
6:00 Class Photo (Steps of the Post Office) (611 E. Kansas Ave) next to the Elks Club
6:15 Gather at the Elks Lodge for cocktails (609 E. Kansas Ave. Lower Level Kansas Ave Entrance) Cash Bar
6:45 Memorial presentation of our deceased classmates

8:00 to Midnight Dancing to the Sounds of the 70’s or whatever era you request.

Attention Air Travellers:

The old route from Kansas City International Airport to Atchison via Weston is not available due to bridge construction along Missouri Highway 45 from Weston to Sugar Lake. Follow this map and directions to come to Atchison via Leavenworth. It will make your visit more enjoyable and quicker then roaming over the hills in Western Missouri trying to find Rushville on some very small and hilly two lane roads!

Reunion Questionnaire

Hi again,

I've been remiss the past few months getting additional information posted/ Actually remiss in even signing in and checking for responses from classmates. Well, now we have the registration forms mailed, the events planned, and are just awaiting your returned application forms and fees. Our only hope is that you will have as much fun at the reunion as we have had at the planning meetings.

I did want to add the forms to this blog page in case any of you know of a classmate that is still on our list of missing classmates, but I guess I spoke out of turn. I've been unable to add file attachments, so if you need an electronic copy of the forms or questionnaire, email me and I will forward the files to you directly. If I later locate a tipsheet that tells me how to add files, I'll attach them for your use.

We Need Your Help

Even if you are not sure if you will be able to attend the reunion, I would like to ask that you send several photos, via email, so that we can attempt to generate a slide show for our September Reunion. smcraeahs1975@gmail.com

Probably as a guideline, we could set a minimum of five photos and a maximum of 10 with you "our Classmate" the central figure in all the photos. So lets say a family photo, one with your children, possibly a wedding or birthday photo of some sort, and of course grandchildren photos are a must. If you have a scanner and want to throw in several old photos from grade school and high school that would be even better!

The idea is to get to know one's life in as short a time as possible, and I believe as we were always told, "A picture is worth a 1000 words". So can you help us out and start deciding on what you want us to see about your life? I sure hope so, cause at one time in our lives we were all interested in one another, and it would be nice to wrap those missing 35 years into a collage.

Oh yes, there is a lead time on this request as well. The sooner the better is the rule of thumb! No waiting till the last minute like we used to do in Jack Dickson's classes! I'll send out additional reminders as stuff comes in.

Oh, I do want you to know, if you are a scanner freak and want to send more "OLD PHOTOS" we will accept additional photos from you, especially if they show classmates being fools!
